how it all started
It all started in 1997 when Derek Heiar, STACKED’s founder, launched his first firewood business in Iowa serving the Chicago market.
After more than 20 years supplying major retailers and national restaurant chains with wholesale firewood, he knew there had to be a better way to get premium firewood into customers’ hands without the mess, the clunky rack, or the runaround.
In 2023 he unlocked it and created STACKED, debuting his solution to the problem of messy firewood delivery: the Rackless Stackâ„¢.

When I started STACKED, I wasn’t just trying to sell firewood. I wanted to fix everything that frustrated me about how it was delivered to people’s homes.
I’ve spent over 20 years in this business and have seen it all from the mess left in driveways and overpriced racks to the inconsistent quality of the wood itself.
I knew there had to be a better way and that’s what STACKED delivers. We’re focused on providing clean, quality firewood that’s delivered directly to where you want it.
We carefully source our hardwoods, hand-stack every order, and remove all the debris before it gets to your home.
It takes more time, but I don’t believe in cutting corners just to make an extra buck. I built this for people who want great firewood without the runaround.
